Trade Area:

In South Western Alberta Pincher Creek is the only town that can claim to have 35,000 residents within it 100 Kilometers Trade Area. This is because Pincher Creek is centered in the middle of Blairmore, Coledale, Cardston and Fort McLeod.

  • Waterton Lakes National Park, a World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve. It boasts the unique characteristic of rivers flowing into three different oceans.
  • Castle Mountain Sky Resort with claims to be the steepest and deepest terrain any where in North America. With a recently approved expansion the Resort will add beginner and intermediate runs attracting the whole family to the Hill and through Pincher Creek.
  • The Old Man River Dam offers numerous recreational opportunities kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing or boating.

With limited facilities available at these growing attractions, Pincher Creek can boast the highest hotel occupancy rate in Southern Alberta.

In 1994 Pincher Creek became the home of Canada’s largest wind farm. Pincher Creek’s location is ideal for this new and growing energy source. Four major projects have been approved and two more are well underway.
